Oscar Construction is dedicated to delivering exceptional construction solutions in the greater Helena area. We take pride in our work and strive to exceed client expectations on every project.
Oscar Construction is owned by Omar Buenalaya and is named after both Omar’s father and son. They are sources of inspiration that guide his commitment to hard work, continual improvement, and caring for clients the way he cares for family and friends-with respect, integrity, and an open heart.

Omar’s construction career began with shoveling and hauling concrete via wheelbarrow in Huancayo, Peru, his hometown in the high Andes. As a teenager and young man, he gained hands-on experience in building maintenance and renovations while working at a hotel in Lima.
After years of demanding labor, Omar immigrated to Montana, where he worked as a ranch hand at the Sieben Ranch and spent many years working for the Baucus family as a sheepherder.

When Omar became a father to his son Oscar, Omar chose to follow his heart (and the American Dream) by starting his own construction business to build a better future for his family. That vision became Oscar Construction.

Today, Omar takes great pride in what he has built in Montana and carries his values into every project.

Oscar Construction's Omar Buenalaya is one of a kind. I had the pleasure of helping him in designing a brand new floor plan for a 1960's home. A huge thank you to Omar Buenalaya and Oscar Construction for completing construction of my Workout Room/Bike Shop. This was the first construction project I've ever commissioned. Omar partnered with me in the design and was incredibly patient with my lack of knowledge. He explained in detail the electrical, plumbing, and heating challenges, of which there were several, and he mastered each one. He was careful to build to code and even fixed several issues that were skipped in the original house construction. Omar's finish work is impeccable. I expected a funky garage workshop and instead have the most beautiful room in the house.
